Bitter Taste of Honey

Jazz band playing in the back ground
Tears making their round
Her voice carried around the club
As she poured her heart out in song
Everyone sat mesmerized
Ridding each note along with her
Captivated by her beauty

Her soul was raw
Enthralled they sat on edge
Of their seats inhaling the scent
Of her perfume mixed in with smoke
In her tale she sung of a man she
Loved how he became her heaven
And earth
He was her laughter and pain
Still she loved him even more
At night he made love like an angel
But it was the devil she saw in the light
You take the good with the bad
And regrets you drowned in a bottle
Of eyes wide shut
People shouted from their seats
Urging her on
Women relating to her song
Wiped away flow of tears
Men were moved by the
Honesty of her words the truth

She sang in each verse
When the music faded into
The night she quietly bowed
Her head and whispered
“Bitter taste of honey” and
vanished from the stage

Flame

Lying on her bed staring up at the mirror above her
Making a provocative picture of a woman hungry to be loved
She ran a hand up her thigh pretending it
To be that of a lover
She moaned deep in her throat as her hand
Reached for that hush-hush spot
She rolled over onto her stomach and cursed
Herself for the loneliness she felt
She didn’t have to be lonely
Plenty of men were willingly
To share her bed
Some were so infatuated offering
Marriage or placated her
With the temptation of being
Their mistress
But she was tired of the game
She wanted something more
With substance
Superficial men were a bore
And boredom kills
Rolling onto her side she curled
Up into a fetal position
Her body was a blaze
How long had it been
Since she’d lain with a man
Throbbing inside wouldn’t let up
As hard as she tried to divert
Her attention else where
It always came back to that
Sexual fire burning
She was at war with herself
Feeling lonely desiring something
Of substance and the need
To be fulfilled
Darkness slowly settled around
The room
She liked the night
The enticing secrets it held
Reaching for the near empty
Bottle of Pinot Noir she poured
The remainder in her wine glass
Slowly sipping the liquor warming
Her insides making her earlier
Mood vanish
What was this foolishness she was feeling?
Reaching for her phone she dialed
A familiar number
On first ring it answered
Purring like a kitten into the receiver
She waited for a response
Smiling she ended the call
In the darkness she waited for
Her lover to come and release her
Sexual pain
Sometimes the need is just too great
And common sense strives after the wind
Nature has to be answered refusing
To be ignored

Merry Go Round

He lounged in his car and observed

Her from a distance
As he did each day like a
 Premeditated decision
Followed her every where she went
He wore his love for her like a badge for suckers
Would do anything she wanted
Her lap dog she so often called him
He let her rub him and pat him on his head
A good boy doing his job
He didn’t mind his manhood
Was in question
A price he willingly paid for
A small taste of her sweet morsel
Any crumb of affection she offered
She was enticing true enough
She wasn’t a great beauty and her
Body wasn’t all that much
But yet she beheld something
That kept drawing him in
Sitting there looking through his
Binoculars’ he saw her talking to a man
She tossed her head back laughing
Deep and hard
At something he’d said
She looked around as if she
Sensed his presence
He ducked down low in his seat
Still keeping her in his view
The man walked away from her
Not before slipping something into her hand
She continued on her way
Meticulously he trailed her until she
Was lost in the crowd
He knew he had to stop this insanity
But didn’t know how
Evening rolled around he knocked at her door
She let him in placing a cool kiss across
His expecting lips
She pulled him closer rubbing
 Sensually against him
He’d come to get answers but
His thoughts went astray
Pulling her tighter feeling the beat
 Of her heart quicken
Somewhere in his mind he thought
 About questioning her
Then she purred those words
He loved to hear in his ear
Dirty, filthy, words a woman
Shouldn’t speak; he desired to hear
Tomorrow he thought, he’d put an end
To this merry go round
But for tonight he’d ride it just one more time……….

Those Eyes

She sat alone watching the comings
 And goings of patrons
Her eyes followed their movements
With curious intensity
Taking a sip of her wine from over the rim
She caught the gaze of a young man
Tilting her head to the side she smiled
To him with her eyes
Desire pooled in her irises
With coyness she batted her lashes
Flirtatiousness in each flutter
She looked away then back
Color of her eyes adapting to her mood
Going from vibrant blue to passion purple
She gave him her ‘come hither’ look
Smoldering embers in their profundity
He couldn’t resist
Sitting across from her he continued to stare
Drowning in her limpid voyeurism
Such a beautiful woman with eyes he couldn’t describe
Eyes that were telling him a story
Weaving a spell her gaze was an invitation
To heaven maybe a little bit of hell
He leaned in closer to get a better look
Could have sworn he saw angels in their depth
There was a hint of laughter in her gaze
Pulling him in even further
Those eyes of hers he couldn’t turn away from
Something about them was so powerful
Provocative, dangerous
Her eyes danced over his body
A chill of forbidden passion crawled along his spine
She glanced down and slowly lifted her eyes to
Meet his asking a question
Answering he stood taking her hand
Leading her away from the crowd
Outside the quiet of the night greeted them
He turned to gaze into those eyes
What he saw terrified him
Too late he was her prisoner
She’d never spoken a word
Her eyes vocalized everything she wanted
And it was his soul

Prey Love

Standing with hands on her hips she surveyed the room
Over in a dark corner she spotted her next victim
Easy prey she thought to herself had all the marks
Of a man who could easily be taken
Coy smile on her face she sashayed up to him pulled out a cigarette looking up she saw surprise rise in his pupils
Taking out a gold lighter he lit her cigarette
Thank you she purred and turned to walk away
What’s the hurry he asked hunger in his eyes
She looked over her creamy colored shoulder
Her face partially hidden from the hair that had
Fallen across her face
She smiled shrugged her slender shoulder and sat
Down no hurry she said no hurry at all
She puffed her cigarette blowing smoke slowly
He took in her appearance, guess her aged to be of consent
Underneath the table he ran a hand up her thigh
She turned and smiled reaching beneath the table
And inching his hand up further……..
Later as they lay in his bed he took out a cigarette
Lighting it up he blew circles above his head
He looked over at her still sleeping form
Next to his bed pulled out a long syringe and
A vile of something that was no good
Gently he took her arm and plunged the needle deep within
Her eyes popped open fear registering
 Her world faded to black………
On his way out the door he took
One last look at her lifeless body
Sinister smile and death in his eyes he walked
Out the door living it wide open
Disappearing into the early morning fog

Another Year

Each year passes by still
You are remembered and loved
Missed no doubt about that
Regardless of the time that’s passed
Your smile and laughter forever
Imprinted in our minds
So here I am once again recalling the
Day you came into our lives
To the ones close to my heart
You know who I speak of
Years come years go
Memories never fail
And yes some tears linger
As we look to another year
Miss you always

Incognito

Her steps were quick, purposeful
People standing around
Looked up as she came through
The huge glass doors
No one bothered to stop her
Question why was she there
Anxiously she waited for the
Ride that would carry her
To destiny
The elevator door opened
Stepping into the corridor
She went unnoticed
Silently she inserted the key into the lock
Door crept open without a sound
One last look over her shoulder, she entered
Slipping into his room, unseen
Each time she prayed this wouldn’t be the last
Time they’d be together
It was getter more complex, the game they
Were playing
Constantly fearing discovery
Being incognito was becoming a challenge
A drug fed on by love junkies
Bungee jumping without the cord
To bring you back to earth
Detrimental consequences if
Ever they were found out
But the need to be together out weighed
The risk
Dangerous love made it only stronger
The hunger that hung between them
Forbidden fornication, tasted all the better
Behind closed doors they could be truth
And honesty
Unmasking the façade they kept
For the world
Sharing with no one the secrets
They beheld
His bed was empty; she ran one
Long painted finger tip across his pillow
Bent to smell his cologne
That lingered in the softness
Inhaling slowly shutting her eyes
Visioning all the acts of love making
They performed, moaning
Hesitantly she pulled away
 Not wanting to let go
Of the memories
She passed a mirror and stopped
Gazing into it she viewed her body
Slowly undressing standing naked
Every each of her bareness she explored
Remembering where his hands had been
Closing her eyes she let her head roll back
And breathed in deeply
Desire coming to pool between
Her thighs
The tips of her breast harden imaging
The sweet sensation of his lips
Pulling and teasing her rose buds
Caught in her own vortex
She didn’t hear him enter
She felt the warmth of his hands
Caressing her nakedness
As he exhaled stirring the hairs on her neck
She fell back into him while he
Wrapped her up in a sensual embrace
This was their place two lovers
Hidden from the world
Here they made their own
A piece of heaven if only
For an hour or two
Looking into her eyes he saw a piece of his heart
She reflected in hers all the love she possessed
Taking his hand guiding him to the bed
Slowly she undressed him
Taking his hand she pulled him down
To where their hearts both met
Forgotten was time
They didn’t need words
Their bodies spoke to each other
Conversing in tempo the crescendo
Orchestrated into a vibrato of explosion
Two bodies, two souls came together
In spirit
Next week they’d be back
Searching for a new disguise
To hide their identity
Playing with fire was their high
Because as long as they had each other
Everything was right with the world
And forever they will remain
Incognito
